In about an hour…

…we’re expecting our first guest(s) to arrive at our house for a full-day of game playing.  I’m not entirely certain how the day will turn out, but I hope my lovely wife will take some wonderful pictures.

Hopefully, there will be several games of Tichu, Settlers of Catan, Puerto Rico, Ticket to Ride, Race for the Galaxy, Carcassonne, and Fiasco.

Interestingly, Laura, a good friend of mine, had been planning a birthday party for a mutual friend, and was thinking “We should get together for an all day game playing session on Saturday.”  Thankfully, the voice of reason reminded Laura that there was already an event matching that description scheduled for the same day.  So here’s to hoping.

For Today

I want to play at least one game of Fiasco primarily because several theater friends are going to be here, and I think all of them will really enjoy this wonderful gem.

I also want to play at least one game of Race for the Galaxy; It is one of my favorite games, and one that I believe others will really enjoy learning.

Enough idling away, I need to get back to work so I can get back to play.

  1. I’m coming! And Rachel called in “sick” to work today, so she’s coming too! We’ll plan on an afternoon stint.

BTW, I’ve now played at least 15 games of RftG via the keldon.net framework and have yet to actually win a game despite employing numerous different strategies. 2 player, 4 player, doesn’t matter. Clearly I don’t fully grasp the nuances yet
